Professor Syagga holds B.A., M.A, and PhD in Land Economics from the University of Nairobi. He is professor of real estate at the University of Nairobi. He is registered and licensed to practice as a Valuer under the Valuers Act, 1984 and also registered as an Estate Agent under the Estate Agents Act, 1984. He has worked in both private and public sectors, and undertaken several valuation projects in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and South Africa in areas such as asset valuation, Investment appraisal and rating; stamp duty, estate duty, insurance, open market, mortgage and capital/book valuation. He has also undertaken resettlement action plans for various projects Uganda Railway Standard Gauge, Tororo to Kampala, and Uganda Electricity Company, Kenya Power and Lighting Company, Kenya Electricity Transmission Company, National Irrigation Board, He is a Director and the Principal Consultant in the firm of Mauna Consulting Limited.
